Nutritional therapy deals with rebalancing nutrients and maximising their absorption. Ridding the body of toxins, which are a contributing factor of ill health, brings the body back into harmony and restores health and vitality.

Tara also uses her extensive knowledge of Homeopathy, Herbalism, Homeotoxicology and Flower Remedies incorporating them into treatments when she feels it is appropriate.

  Consultation

The first consultation usually takes about 1 hour, however, Tara does not set a time limit as she feels it should take as long as is required. During this time a full case history is taken at the end of which she will summarise her initial thoughts to you and discuss how best to progress with your case.

Then a few days later Tara will send you out dietary recommendations and where appropriate supplement suggestions.

The follow on consultation is usually about 6 weeks later and last about 30 minuets; that said she is very much there for you during this time at the end of the telephone or email to support you and answer any questions that may come up.

Nutritional medicine seeks to discover the cause of a problem rather than suppressing a symptom or treating a 'labelled' or named disease. Anyone can change their diet but it takes professional skills to understand human biochemistry and nutrient metabolism.

The philosophical concepts that deal with the holistic nature of ill health or well-being are also an important factor in the diagnostic procedure.

Nutritional Medicine combines proven science based nutrition with naturopathic principles. These encompass the physical, emotional, mental, spiritual and subtle energy levels.

  About Tara

Several years ago, Tara felt that the time was right to develop an interest in alternative therapies that had begun when she was pregnant with the first of her four children. This decision set her life on a journey of health and personal discovery that she had never thought possible.

As a starting point, she embarked on a diploma course in Clinical Herbalism, hoping that this would lead to further related studies. Then, while on a yoga holiday, she met a holistic Medical Nutritionist who encouraged her to study with the prestigious Dr. Lawrence Plaskett.

Plasket Nutritional Medicine College is represented on the UK Nutritional Therepy Council. Tara graduated from Plaskett's in 2004. In addition she has a Diploma in Iridology and Herbalism and is a Journey Therapist, she is also trained in NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming).

Tara designs specific nutritional programmes for each individual patient she sees.

She is a member of the IGPP (International Guild of Professional Practitioners) and BANT (British Association of Nutritonal Therapists) and CMA (Complimentary Medical Association).

Tara works between the South West of England and London; she also treats patients oversees whom she corresponds with via telephone and email. Tara practices from her own clinics as well as the renowned Hale Clinic and the exemplary London Road Clinic. Additionally, she is contributing in a book coming out in September called, 'Gok Wan At Home'; and is involved with The Warrior Programme, a charity which empowers people to take control of their lives and well-being, for more information go to www.warriorprogramme.org.uk
