STUDENT SURVIVAL COOKERY COURSES

Are your children about to embark on the next stage of their lives; be it University or travelling?

Are you concerned whether they are able to care for themselves? Are you worried about their eating habits?

As a Holistic Medical Nutritionist and a Mother of four, I am well placed to give students the essential life skills the value of eating really well whilst surviving on a tight budget throughout their time at University or College.

I am offering 3 day residential workshops at my home in an idyllic rural setting in a village in Somerset.

They will learn how to plan, buy and prepare nutritious food quickly and with out fuss. They will learn how a healthy diet will help them to maintain good energy and blood sugar levels contributing to general well-being; giving you as parents peace of mind and them confidence with food.

Setting them a standard for eating well which will be with them for life.

During the week talks will be given on the importance of good nutrition, with explanations as to the how and why it affects the body. On top to this they will leave with a knowledge of some natural first aid and beauty tips. For example: lavender oil on insect bites.

For those who are concerned about hormonal problems, weight, digestive health, or the like, individually tailored nutritional consultations and programmes will be offered as an optional extra whilst on the course.

Four courses will be run in September 2008, with six places available on each course.

Expert Instruction by

MIRANDA BERROW

Miranda Berrow is one of those amazing woman whose house you can turn up at unannounced, and within the space of 15 mins a feast will be before you, all fresh and all delicious. Her husband and now grown up children are well aware of this skill and think nothing of arriving with an army of friends at no notice, knowing that food will be provided (and some).

She has lived in Canada, France, South Africa, Italy, Sri Lanka and brings to the table a myriad of tastes and cultures.

We are extremely lucky that this fabulous woman is on bored to work with me on the Student Survival Cookery Course, and can guarantee with her skills as a cook and my skills as a Nutritionist you will leave our course with food which you will want to cook, and food that others will want you to cook.

On top of this Miranda (also known as Mouse) is an incredible potter, please do take a look at her web site as her work is quite breathtaking. www.mirandaberrow.co.uk

TARA HOLT

Tara has been around good food all her life, her mother is a fantastic cook and was always trying new things.

Work has always involved food, as a nanny for 6 years, she took charge of the children’s and often the parents meals; she was the manageress of a café in Edinburgh, this also included doing the lunches when the chef did not make it in! Tara also did directors lunches in Edinburgh and did events organising for charity balls (to keep costs down this often involved doing much of the catering herself). Tara trained as a Nutritionist and now combines all of those years of experience with expert knowledge and understanding of food and it’s effect on the body, as a Mother of four with a career she also understands the need to put nutritious food on the table quickly.

These skills and much of this knowledge will be passed on to the students, setting them on a path of health eating which will be with them for life.
